The goal of the PASS Mentoring Program is to Promote Academic Success for Students (PASS) by providing a healthy learning and social environment. Minority freshmen are paired with upper classmen in their major areas for a smooth transition into college. The program seeks to create a “family away from home” environment to help freshmen reach their academic and social potential at Auburn University. The PASS Mentoring Program promotes a diversified, expanded, and talented global workforce and increases opportunities for our students’ success.
The PASS Mentoring Program process includes:
Eligibility: This program is open to all minority students who are currently registered at Auburn University in COSAM. In order to be eligible we require our students to be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.50 or above.
Orientation: To ensure that all mentors are prepared for the upcoming year, it is crucial to foster a positive group dynamic that will prepare a team to rise to the challenges of Peer Mentoring and advising. Therefore, orientations/training sessions are organized to create an open dialogue between mentors concerning expectations, planning group events, meeting with Diversity staff, mentoring rules/ guidelines and strategies. ALL SELECTED PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND MENTOR/MENTEE TRAINING.
Selection Process:
