Shawn Asmuth, Chair, called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Representatives present: Judy Allen, Shawn Asmuth, Fred Bobo, Kim Durbin, Carl Gagliano, Jane Goff, Robert Gottesman, Ellyn Hix, Jack Lawton, Minnie Melton, Michael Miller, Donna Mitcham, David Moncus, Betty Reese, Kevin Robinson, Peggy Stallworth, Sherry Sydnor, Ted Trupp and Teresa Vest.

The minutes from the June 9 meeting were reviewed. Gottesman moved that the minutes be accepted. Reese seconded and the motion carried.

Asmuth reviewed the election process of the A & P Executive Committee with the Assembly.

Asmuth presented Michael Miller from University Computing representing the Provost area and Teresa Vest from Budget Services representing the VP for Business & Finance area as the Nominations and Elections Committee's nominees for Chair-elect of the A&P Assembly Executive Committee. There were no nominations from the floor. Bobo moved that the nominations for Chair-elect be closed and Kevin Robinson seconded the motion. Miller won the election.

The nominees for Secretary were Ellyn Hix from University Computing representing the Provost area and Donna Mitchum from AUHCC representing the VP for Administrative Services area. There were no nominations from the floor. Moncus moved that the nominations for Secretary be closed and Miller seconded the motion. Hix won the election.

The nominees for Members At-Large were Jane Goff from Foy Union representing the VP for Student Affairs, Minnie Melton from the Library representing the Provost area and David Moncus from University Computing representing the Provost area. Nominees from the floor were Carl Gagliano from Facilities representing the VP for Administrative Services area and Teresa Vest from Budget Services representing the VP for Business & Finance area. Trupp moved that the nominations be closed and Miller seconded the motion. Gagliano, Vest and Moncus won the election.

Asmuth thanked the Nominations and Elections Committee for their work.

Old Business:
Asmuth gave an update on the Presidential Committees. She has contacted Dr. Muse by memo to request the original seats agreed upon by the Faculty Senate and A&P Assembly. For committees for which were not yet agreed upon, it was requested that one (1) A&P representative be on each committee.

Asmuth gave an update on the Policy Committee. Robert Gottesman and Shawn Asmuth met with Darwin Liverance to discuss the unanswered questions. The Personnel Policy & Procedures manual is scheduled to go before the Board of Trustees at the October meeting.

New Business:
Election of the new assembly members is underway. The Nominations & Elections Committee issued guidelines. Feedback is being requested from each of the vice presidential areas. Gottesman reviewed the proportion representation.

The next scheduled meeting will be Wednesday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. in 217 Foy Union.

Asmuth bid farewell to the outgoing Assembly Members.

Durbin moved for the meeting to adjourn and was seconded by Sydnor. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
