Meeting Minutes

Call to Order

Drew Burgering, Chair of the Assembly, called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

 

Roll Call

Maria Folmar called roll.

Representatives Present: Kirsten Perkins, Barnese Adair-Wallace, Gary Wittekind, Mark Wilson, Julie Nolen, Vivian Miller, Lisa Fleming, April Staton, John Owen, Jane Hoehaver, David Hennessey, Todd Storey, Drew Burgering, Harriette, Huggins, and Maria Folmar (15)

 

Representatives Absent: Pat Deery, Latresha Brady-Pinkston, Katie Mantooth, Greg Ruff, Teresa Logiotatos, Tony Ventimiglia (6)

 

Number of Assembly Members Present: 19

 

 It was noted that a quorum was present.

 

Purpose of the Meeting

D. Burgering announced that the purpose of this called meeting was to elect a Secretary; the position has been vacated with the resignation of Missy Long from the Assembly.

 

Candidates consenting to have their names placed on the ballot for Secretary are:

  • Julie Nolen – Development
  • John Owen – College of Agriculture

 

Following conduct of the vote it was announced that Julie Nolen was elected Secretary for the remainder of the term.  Both candidates were thanked for being willing to serve.

 

Announcements

  • Gary Wittikind has been named Representative to fill the unexpired term of Missy Long.
  • A called Assembly meeting has been scheduled on January 23 2007 for the purpose of considering and voting on two constitutional revisions:

1.         Increasing the permissible number of absences by representatives from Assembly meetings from two to three.

2.         Removing the Grievance Policy from the Constitution (Article 6).

It is noted that all A & P employees who attend the meeting will be invited to vote.

 

  • The Executive Committee will meet on December 6 to plan for the called meeting scheduled for January 23, 2007.

 

The Assembly meeting adjourned at 3:50 p.m.
