Learn business professional fashion dos and don’ts from Dillard’s Style Expert, Amber Menzie with the help of the AU Modeling Board. Door prizes and free food round out this fun event.

You get it. Internships are important. But, how do you go about finding and applying for internships that fit your career goals and interests? This session will cover the ins and outs of finding great internship opportunities with tips and strategies for submitting stand out applications and acing the interview process.

Guest Speaker & Internship Expert: Lauren Berger, The Intern Queen

You don’t get the nickname “Intern Queen” from sitting in your room watching re-runs of Law & Order: [Insert your choice of spin-off]. Internship Expert, Lauren Berger, participated in 15 internships during her 4 years of college including MTV, NBC, Fox and BWR Public Relations. She will share her experiences in finding internships, dealing with rejection and making valuable professional connections. Her website is dedicated to helping students find and apply for internships while also educating them on how to make the most of their experiences.

Student Panel: Making the Most of Your Experience

There is more to most internships that making copies and getting coffee. To make a great impression on your employer and prepare yourself for a full-time job, you have to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and do more. Hear from students who have participated in internships as they discuss their experiences and answering your questions about the internship application process and how to make the most of your internship experience.

How to Market Your Experience

“New graduate with experience going once, going twice…sold!” An experience is only as good as your ability to market key skills and accomplishments to future employers. The session will teach you how to evaluate your experience, identify skills and accomplishments employers want to see and incorporate them into each aspect of the job search process (resume, cover letter, interview, etc.).

Career Expo: Engineering & Technical Majors
4-5 PM | The Hotel at AU and Dixon Conference Center

Renting a billboard on I-85 is the only other way to get yourself in front of this many employers at one time. Meet with representatives from over 100 companies and tell them why you are the best candidate for their internships and jobs. It’s a win-win. They want to hire Auburn graduates and you want to find employment. Check out a list of companies scheduled to attend and get tips for preparing for expo here.
