Do you have exceptional supervisor? Off-campus or on-campus -- nominate outstanding supervisors for Supervisor of the Year. The Career Center encourages Auburn University student workers as well as student employees at various Auburn/Opelika area businesses to celebrate supervisor contributions during National Student Employment Week, April 10-14, 2017

As a part of National Student Employment Week, on Friday, April 14, the Career Center will host its annual Student Employment Awards ceremony. In addition to student recognition, student employees are able to thank their supervisors by submitting nominations for the Supervisor of the Year award. All nominees will receive recognition and one supervisor will be selected as the Supervisor of the Year.

In addition to Student Employment Awards, the Career Center devotes attention to student employee contributions throughout the week of National Student Employment Week. Event details are listed below. Please consider joining us in celebrating the hard work of our exceptional students!

Eligibility

  • Must be a current, direct supervisor of an on-campus or off-campus student employee(s)
  • Nominations may be submitted by a student employee or a colleague who is knowledgeable of their supervisory skills

Nomination Criteria

To nominate a supervisor, each student will be required to write a Nomination Letter. Nomination letters will be accepted January 23 through February 3. Nomination letters should be submitted online accompanied with contact information.

In order to give your supervisor the best chance to be selected, make the nomination letter as comprehensive as possible. However, be mindful that nominations should not exceed 1 page in length. Please note: Only one nomination letter per nominee will be submitted to the selection committee.

Please try to provide examples and evidence that specifically demonstrate the qualities of your supervisor. Point out specific or key accomplishments and state why your supervisor is outstanding. Describe when your supervisor went above and beyond or made a significant contribution to the university or local business.

Please include information and examples about the following areas:

  • How the nominee has gone above and beyond the standard supervisory expectations
  • The quality of the nominee's work and work style
  • The nominee's leadership skills, initiative and motivation
  • The impact the nominee has had on your department, campus, and/or community
  • The qualities of the nominee that set him/her apart from other supervisors
