Drew then explained the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) instrument and presented a summary of data collected at Auburn University to date. NSSE is administered to freshmen and seniors during the spring semester and has been used at Auburn in 2002, 2004, and from 2006-2010. Copies of the instrument were handed out.
Also presented were the BCSSE (Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement) administered during Camp War Eagle from 2008-2010, and the FSSE (Faculty Survey of Student Engagement) administered in 2008.
The next meeting will feature data obtained from the CLA (Collegiate Learning Assessment) instrument. Examples of best QEP Exploratory Committee practices from other universities will also be presented. It is expected that several analysis and logistics subcommittees will then be formed to continue the efforts of the SACS-QEP Exploratory Committee.
