Rausch and Pausch (RAPA), a family-owned company headquartered in Germany for more than 90 years with a local office in Auburn, donated $1,000 to the BEST (Boosting Engineering Science and Technology) Robotics program at Auburn University.

“This generous donation from an international company like RAPA indicates the value that industry places on robotics education as a way for students to improve their problem solving skills,” said Mary Lou Ewald, director of outreach for the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM).

The donation will be used to support the robotics program, which provides hands-on learning opportunities for middle and high school students. Auburn University hosts the South’s BEST robotics championship event each year attracting thousands of students from across the southeast.

“It is incredibly important that K-12 students have hands-on opportunities to learn about potential STEM career paths,” said Tim Beasley, human resources manager at RAPA. “Automation and robotics are driving the future workforce, and by partnering with BEST Robotics, I hope to spark interest in our students to pursue these careers in the future.”
