Use to report damage to Auburn University-owned, rented or leased vehicles.

Coverage is subject to a $500 deductible (a $1,000 will apply if the Auburn University defensive driving course has not been taken in the past 3 years).

Use to report damage or bodily injury caused by the operation of an Auburn University-owned, rented, or leased vehicle.

AccidentCLICK HERE to Report a General Liability Claim/Incident 

Use to report bodily injury or property damage liability arising from ownership or use of buildings or premises or university operations. Also use this to report incidents and accidents involving minors.

Examples include:

  • Visitor falls on campus property
  • Lawn equipment or debris damages parked vehicles

AccidentCLICK HERE to Report Damage to a University Building, Contents, or Equipment 

A $5,000 deductible applies to each loss.

Specialized property coverage with a lower deductible is available by request. This coverage is designed to protect property while in transit, along with valuable mobile items. Please refer to our insurance coverage page for more information or to add coverage.

All inquiries/correspondence, including questions related to existing claims, should be directed to Risk Management & Safety at 334-844-4533.

 

  1. Information that will be requested when reporting a property claim:
    1. Name of building
    2. Description of Item(s) damaged (including any serial/item numbers if applicable)
    3. Date of loss
    4. Cause of loss
    5. Estimated extent of damage ($)
    6. Contact person and phone number 
  2. Department Responsibility Following a Loss:
    1. Report loss to Risk Management & Safety immediately;
    2. Take photographs to document the damage;
    3. Protect property from further damage;
    4. Make necessary temporary repairs;
    5. Document your labor and material costs;
    6. Cooperate fully with Risk Management & Safety and the State Adjuster;
    7. Make available the property for inspection;
    8. DO NOT dispose of the property without the adjuster's approval.
    9. If the damage occurs as a result of a natural disaster, please also notify Auburn University's Emergency Management Planner, at Public Safety and Security.  This would include damage from tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and similar natural catastrophes.
  3. Claim Mitigation
  4. In the event of an emergency, you should make any necessary temporary repairs needed in order to protect your property from further damage.
