University Senate Meeting - October 2011

The GSC President is included as a Senator for all University Senate meetings. The October Senate meeting met on Tuesday, October 4.

Notes of interest to the Graduate Student community:

Anna Beth Presley, Senate Chairperson, informed the Seante that students will receive a mini diploma for their wallet at graduation, and full diplomas will be mailed to students after graduation. This will push back grade due dates and save money in unclaimed/incorrect diplomas.
Margaret Marshall, Director of the University Writing Center, gave an update on the University Writing Initiative. Powerpoint Link
Sushil Bhavnani, Chair of Teaching Effectivness Committee, and Emmett Winn, Chair of CoursEval Implementation Committee, gave a status update on the move to Online Student Course Evaluations. Powerpoint Link
- The new online evaluations will be implemented by the end of this semester. Teaching evaluations for Fall 2011 will be available as of December 12.
