  • January 28, 2016 – Celebration of Research and Creative Scholarship. The College of Liberal Arts will hold a Celebration of Research and Creative Scholarship at Pebble Hill on Thursday, January 28 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. CLA faculty with publications in 2015 who are able to attend will be present to discuss their work in an informal atmosphere of conversation and exchange. The public is invited to attend the program, and we would be pleased to have you attend, allowing us to recognize your unit’s contributions to faculty scholarly achievement. Refreshments will be provided, and if you have not toured the recently renovated Scott-Yarbrough House, we invite you to arrive a few minutes early for a brief tour.
  • January 26, 2016 – Strategic Planning Workshop. The Office of Public Service is sponsoring a Strategic Planning Workshop at the Auburn Chamber of Commerce January 26, 2016 from 1:00-2:30 PM. This workshop, facilitated by Dr. William Sauser, a professor emeritus of management in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University, will provide an introduction to the process of strategic planning and important tools to use in the process.   • January 15th, 2016 – AuburnServes Spring Volunteer Fair. The Office of Public Service is hosting the AuburnServes Spring Volunteer Fair on Friday, January 15, 2016. This event will take place on Auburn University's Main Campus in the Student Center lobby from 10am to 1pm. This is a great opportunity for students and faculty at Auburn to learn about your volunteer and service learning events. If you would like to reserve a table for your organization, please let us know. We only have space for 25 agencies so make sure to reserve your table as soon as you can!   • December 3, 2015 – Community Partner Training. The Office of Public Service is hosting a Community Partner Training on December 3, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. The training is entitled "Marketing Strategy Workshop" and will cover topics in mission statements, target markets, product/service positioning, and marketing methods. Space is limited!   • November 20, 2015 – AU Leadership Series "Influence Through Accountability" with Larry Little. The Office of Professional and Continuing Education presents "Influence Through Accountablity" by Dr. Larry Little which will be held on November 20, 2015 at the AU Hotel and Conference Center. The Office of Public Service will host a Service Learning Colloquia, a panel discussion on the topic of critical reflection for service-learning and active citizenship, Thursday, November 12, 12:30-2:00 p.m. in AU Student Center room 2310.   • Auburn scholars will be presenting at the Fulbright “Creating Pathways to Peace – Global Health and Education" Conference on November 12-14, in Atlanta, GA.
  • October 30, 2015 – COSG Proposal Submission Deadline. The final proposal submission deadline for the Competitive Outreach Scholarship Grants is Friday, October 30, 2015 by 4:45 p.m. Proposals submitted by this deadline will not undergo a format check and will not have the opportunity for revision or resubmission.
  • October 29, 2015 – Lecture: After Mandela The College of Liberal Arts and Auburn University Libraries is co-sponsoring a lecture on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Caroline Marshall Draughon Auditorium on the ground floor of the RBD Library. The lecture entitled 'After Mandela: South African Education in the Context of Politics, Business, and Race', will be presented by Dr. Stacey Nickson, Director of K-12 Outreach and Fulbright Specialist.
  • October 19-23, 2015Educational & Cultural Tours in Cuba. Auburn University Outreach is leading a series of special educational and cultural tour of Cuba for civic, business, healthcare and educational leaders through 2015 and beyond. These tours, which were developed in response to the recent U.S.-Cuba discussions on reestablishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations, are being coordinated by Outreach's Center for Governmental Services.   • October 21, 2015All In, All Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Event. The Office of the Vice President for University Outreach, in collaboration with The Office of Public Service and Kappa Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, will be hosting the 5th Annual All In, All Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Event on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM on the AU Student Center Green Space. We are currently accepting stories of survival and ways breast cancer has impacted you and your family/friends.   • October 23, 2015 – COSG Early Proposal Submission Deadline. All Competitive Outreach Scholarship Grant proposals (received by Friday, October 23rd by 4:45 p.m.) will undergo a format check (an initial screening for minimum requirements). During this period, authors will only be contacted if there are questions concerning the proposal format, a need for revision, and resubmission. If authors are contacted, a proposal may be returned for revision and resubmission no later than Friday, October 30th by 4:45 p.m.
  • October 13, 2015 – Brown Bag Lunch & Learn. The Office of Public Service will host a Brown Bag Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Auburn Student Center room 2310. Representatives from Village Friends Village Values and Project Uplift will share information about their organizations and tell you how you can get involved. Light refreshments will be served.   • October 14-16, 2015Blue Ridge Conference on Leadership. The 95-year tradition continues. A group of prominent business people representing notable corporations in the Southeast has joined forces with Auburn University College of Business and Engineering Outreach to provide an exceptional Management Leadership Development experience for private and public sector principals, employees and representatives. The conference will be held on October 14-16, 2015 at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly, Black Mountain, NC. The program promises to be challenging, motivational and inspirational.
  • September 28, 2015Grant Writing Workshop. Is your organization in need of funds? Would you like to apply for a grant, but need help getting started. If your organization is like most nonprofit organizations, then this training is just for you. In this grant writing worship Mike Easterwood, outreach associate, Economic and Community Development Institute, will cover the steps of grant writing from finding to funding including discussing available funding sources (private and government) and providing information about what to do after a decision is made about a grant application. Volunteers, staff members, directors and board members of nonprofit agencies are invited to attend this free training session.   • June 8-26, 2015Free Pre-Calculus Summer Day Camp. Registration is now open for a free three-week Pre-Calculus summer day camp for high school students. The camp will meet on the Auburn University campus in room 3345 Haley Center, Monday through Friday June 8-26 from 8 a.m. to Noon. The camp is sponsored by the university’s K-12 Outreach office and the Honors College, and funded through a SENCER subaward from the National Science Foundation. The three week camp will offer students hands-on activities in high tech Smart classrooms for data collection, mathematical analysis, and constructing and solving mathematical models from real-world applications.   • June 9, 2015Community Partner Training. The Office of Public Service is hosting a Community Partner Training Session on Tuesday, June 9, from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M., at the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Courtney Carson, Associate Executive Director of Magic Moments, will be speaking on the topic of Campaign and Event Promotion. Magic Moments is the only wish granting organization devoted exclusively to creating magic moments in the lives of children in Alabama with chronically life threatening medical conditions. A magic moment allows children and their families to forget, even if just for a little while, the fear and pain of their illness.   • February 25, 2015 – The Office of University Outreach and the Black Graduate and Professional Student Association (BGPSA) are hosting the Dr. Juan Gilbert Lecturer Series featuring Dr. Keenan Grenell on Wednesday, February 25 from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Center (room 2223). Dr. Grenell is CEO of Global Capital Group, LLC, a global business consulting firm. His areas of expertise include economic development and entrepreneurship.
