Mission Statement

The Office of Public Service promotes faculty, student and staff engagement through the development of community and institutional partnerships, strengthening the relationship between the university and the public we serve. Our services include:

Support for service learning and student engagement:
  • OPS is the home to the university’s AuburnServes network, supporting faculty and students in developing service learning courses and community engaged projects. The AuburnServes registry provides faculty course management tools and a personal service profile for documentation of individual service work.
Community and institutional partnerships:
  • OPS works in conjunction with academic, administrative, and student offices on campus, extension offices statewide, and more than 50 local, regional and national service agencies. OPS’ AuburnServes network lists more than 140 community partners available for collaborative engagement projects. The office serves as an institutional representative for Campus Compact, the Gulf South Summit on Service Learning, the Alabama Poverty Project and other engagement resources.
Outreach information:
  • The Office of Public Service is also home for Beyond Auburn magazine, and other outreach publications highlighting Auburn’s engagement across Alabama, nationally and even internationally.
