DDC Research and Practitioner Meeting Gets Funded for November 2007 in Washington, DC

Matt Leigninger, the Executive Director of the Deliberative Democracy Consortium announced recently that The Rockefeller Brothers Foundation (RBF) will back the third

Reseach and Practitioner Meeting (R+P) meeting since DDC was founded.

The dates will be from November 28-30th, 2007 at the 4-H Center on Connecticut Avenue, Washington, D.C.

These meetings, which are of invited participants, have been the major catalyst for most of the DDC’s most effective research and practitioner projects.  Directly or indirectly, they have led to the formation of NCDD, the Journal of Public Deliberation, several books and several major research and practitioner collaborations.

This one will also include at one of the sessions a number of non-members who are major activists in citizen participation in both the public sector and government.  For more information see www.deliberative-democracy.net
