Letter from the Director

War Eagle! My name is Logan Powell and as this year's director of Auburn University's BIG Event, I am incredibly excited about this opportunity to serve the Auburn Community.

As an Auburn student, my love for Auburn runs deeper than football or for this university as an institution, the Auburn experience is a community affair. I love Auburn for it's atmosphere and it's people, for that intangible thing we call the Auburn Spirit. As students we are blessed to go to a university surrounded by a community that is as supportive as the Auburn/ Opelika area. The BIG Event is our opportunity to say "Thank you" to our Auburn family by giving back to the community we love so much. Our mission is simple, One Big Family. One Big Difference, One BIG Event.

Last year, our project more than doubled in size putting 2,400 students to work at almost 200 jobsites in our area. Our vision for the current year is to recruit 3,000 Auburn students and match them with more than 250 businesses, residences and organizations in need. We have a team of more than 80 people who have been working tirelessly to ensure that this year's Event is the biggest ever, but we can only reach this goal through the combined efforts of our students, faculty and community members.
