Short Bio

Lucretia Octavia Tripp, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Auburn University.  Her teaching and research center on developing and motivating preservice and in-service teachers in the area of science, culturally responsive teaching and temperament training. She is a STEM Educational Consultant and has lead several study aboard programs supporting teaching, mentoring and working with communities to show how science has a global impact on society.

She has been recognized for her distance and remote teaching globally. She has received the Undergraduate Teaching Award, Curriculum Teaching, Auburn University; the Frank T. Hawkins Distinguished Scholar Award, Research Association of Minority Professors, Atlanta GA; and the Senior Scholar in Residence, American Association Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), Washington DC.

While she is originally from Macon, GA, Dr. Tripp claims Washington DC as part of her lived experiences where she served as a NASA Aerospace Education Specialist for many years. She still holds ties to NASA as a GLOBE Educator.

She enjoys sewing, jewelry making, curriculum development for students in Asia, and loving her Pomeranian, Maleah.
