Valentina Hartarska is an Alumni Professor at the Department of Agricultural Economics & Rural Sociology, and at the Department of Finance (joint appointment). She completed her PhD at the Ohio State University, has studied in 6 countries and speaks 5 languages. Hartarska’s research focuses on microfinance, economic development, financial markets and corporate and NGO governance. She teaches classes in economic development, agricultural finance and econometrics. Hartarska taught at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium and organized an undergraduate exchange program with a Group-ESA Anger, France. Hartarska serves on the Global Programs Advisory Committee in the College of Agriculture.
