Dr. Jung Won Hur is an associate professor in the department of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Technology. She earned her doctorate at Indiana University in 2007 and received her M.Ed. and B.S. in Elementary Education from Seoul National University of Education, South Korea. Before coming to the USA, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Korea for six years. Her research interests focus on technology integration in classrooms, online teacher professional development, computer education, and global learning. She is interested in designing learning environments where every student is encouraged to achieve his/her potential.
For the past three years, she has directed the Global Studies in Education-South Korea program (http://globalkorea.weebly.com/). This is an Auburn University’s College of Education outreach program that is designed to help local school teachers and administrators increase knowledge of Korean culture and Korean educational systems as well as promote appreciation of diversity and global education in schools. She also developed a Global Learning Project where her undergraduate students created education websites in collaboration with students from South Korea and Minnesota, USA.
