Path to the Plains is a program designed around specific degree programs for students who aspire to transfer to Auburn University after completing the requirements for an associate degree at Southern Union State Community College. P2P offers an affordable and accessible pathway through academic programs offered by both institutions.
Students apply through the Path to the Plains application at Southern Union into their intended degree programs. During the first two years of the program, students complete general education classes for an associate degree at Southern Union, along with simultaneously enrolling in at least one course at Auburn University each semester. Success Guides for each program detail which courses will be taken at Southern Union and which courses will be taken at Auburn University. Upon successful completion of the designated coursework and identified program requirements, students transfer to Auburn to complete their bachelor’s degrees in their designated programs.
Path to the Plains provides academic support to students throughout their time at Southern Union and prepares them to successfully transition fully to Auburn University.
