SEC Faculty Achievement Awards
In October 2010, the Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors established the SEC Faculty Achievement Awards program. The program recognizes extraordinary accomplishments of faculty at SEC universities and honors those with outstanding records in both teaching and research who serve as role models for junior faculty and students.
Each SEC institution selects one of its faculty annually as an SEC Faculty Achievement Award winner. The SEC Provosts then name one of those winners as the SEC Professor of the Year. Each Achievement Award winner receives a $5,000 honorarium. The Professor of the Year receives $20,000.
To qualify for the award, a faculty member shall have achieved the rank of full professor, shall have a record of extraordinary teaching, particularly at the undergraduate level, and shall have an outstanding record of scholarship that is recognized nationally and/or internationally.
