Welcome to your first genotyping lab. Today, you are going to take what you have learned about DNA and microsatellites and use that information to solve a mystery. You should have already chosen which mystery scenario you are going to examine. Be sure you read the background information you are given on your case carefully and completely before you begin your experiments. You might find it helpful to take a few notes, even before you enter the laboratory, about any specific information or relationships you are provided regarding your scenario. You want to be sure you have developed your hypothesis completely prior to beginning. You may also want to think about any alternate hypotheses that may fit your scenario. Once you have completely prepared for your scenario, grab your lab coat and let’s get started on collecting your data!!
