How do I know if the classes I want to take will count towards my major?

You can find your specific curriculum plan here. The Summer Start team is available to assist you with selecting courses. Email summerstart@auburn.edu to ask a question or request a virtual meeting.

How will I get registered for my courses?

The Summer Start team will assist you with selecting courses and registration. You will register in early April with the assistance of the Summer Start team.

I'm in the Honors College. How will taking summer classes impact my Honors requirements?

The Honors advisors have recommended for you to register for courses through Summer Start and they will be reaching out to all Honors students in Summer Start with more Honors information in the next few weeks.

Does Auburn already have my transcripts for my Summer Start courses?

Auburn has your high school transcript that was submitted as part of your application, but we also need a copy of your transcript from the post-secondary institution where you earned your dual enrollment credit for us to add your dual enrollment credit to your Auburn student record. Please have it sent to the address below. The Registrars’ Office at the institution where you took the courses will send them on your behalf. If you are unable to get your official transcript at this time, you may email your unofficial transcripts via email to webadms@auburn.edu. Please send your official transcript as soon as you are able, to:

How do I know what credit I might get from AP or IB tests?

You can access the AP/IB Credit table here to learn what scores are needed to earn credit.

Where will I access the Information for my classes?

Your courses will be taught and organized in Auburn’s learning management system called Canvas. It is found in AU Access on your My Academics page.

How will my professors handle office hours?

Your professors will hold office hours a variety of times and through a variety of venues. See your course syllabus for each course to learn details for your professors.

What resources will be available to support me in my classes?

Academic Support Services will be offering peer led tutoring through Study Partners as well as academic coaching to support students in their summer courses. Additionally, some departments or colleges may offer tutoring

Can I use my scholarship to pay for my summer tuition?

For budgeting and reporting purposes, scholarships offered to incoming freshmen admitted for Summer or Fall are awarded for the upcoming academic year. Summer term is considered part of the current 2023-24 academic year. Please contact University Scholarships at scholar@auburn.edu or 334-844-7570 with additional questions.

Can I use my other financial aid to pay my summer tuition?

When will I receive a bill for my summer courses?

Please contact Student Financial Services to learn about the details related to student billing. They can be reached at studentbilling@auburn.edu.

How does math placement work?

Do course fees cover textbooks?

The published tuition fees do not include any extra fees related to textbooks or exam proctoring.

What if I want to make changes to my registration?

Can I take either full summer or mini-term courses?

The majority of our courses are full summer only. We have a handful that are mini-term only. On the course list you can see what term(s) each course is offered. We are happy to talk to you about the specifics.
