Dear Colleagues,

Following this week's announcement regarding Auburn University's adoption of a centralized syllabus repository using the Simple Syllabus platform, I wanted to thank everyone who has shared questions and feedback. Based on those conversations, I've provided additional updates below to clarify the implementation timeline, system access and what faculty can expect over the coming weeks as we prepare for the Fall 2026 semester.

When will the system be available?

The university's centralized syllabus repository is not yet available. We are currently completing final system configuration and testing, including the development of college-specific syllabus templates within the Simple Syllabus platform. As soon as the system is ready (tentatively by the end of this month), faculty will receive detailed instructions for accessing the platform and preparing and publishing their Fall 2026 course syllabi.

What should faculty be doing now?

You are encouraged to begin reviewing and updating your Fall 2026 course syllabi to ensure they are ready once the repository becomes available. Additional guidance on preparing, reviewing and publishing syllabi will be shared prior to the system launch.

What communications can faculty expect?

To help ensure that you receive important updates, please add my email address (markdegoti@auburn.edu) and the Syllabus Success email address (syllabus@auburn.edu) to your safe sender list and review your spam or junk mail settings. Also, please bookmark the Syllabus Success website.

Between now and the start of the fall semester, Dr. Asim Ali and I will provide a series of implementation updates covering system access, training opportunities, important reminders and faculty support resources on topics including:

• Site launch and access information for faculty
• Building, reviewing and publishing syllabi
• Faculty training opportunities and office hours
• Helpful tips and best practices
• Important reminders and implementation updates

These communications are intended to provide you with additional information in manageable pieces as implementation progresses.

First Faculty Training Session

Information for the first live faculty training session is provided below. The initial session will introduce faculty to Auburn's centralized syllabus repository, demonstrate the Simple Syllabus platform and provide an overview of the syllabus preparation and publication process. A recording will be posted to the Syllabus Success website for those who are unable to attend.
