Minutes of the Steering Committee Meeting

--The meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m.

--The minutes of the 22 September 2010 Steering Committee meeting were approved without change. 

--We finalized agenda items for the October 19 meeting of the University Senate, including proposals to change the composition, charge and membership of the Competitive Research Grant Committee and to approve the Faculty Scholarship Incentive Plan, and information items pertaining to the Interdisciplinary Studies Program and activities of the University Writing Committee.

--We developed a preliminary slate of agenda items for the November 16 meeting of the University Senate, possibly to include a joint action item from SGA and Academic Honesty Committee on proposed changes to the Academic Honesty Code; and information updates on Honors College, Core Curriculum and General Education Committee, and/or Intercollegiate Athletics. The agenda will be finalized by Steering Committee at its November 3 meeting; the October 25 meeting has been cancelled.

--The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
