Meeting Minutes of the Steering Committee

In Attendance: Michael Baginski, Emmett Winn (for Tim Boosinger), Larry Crowley, Claire Crutchley,  Laura Plexico, Ann Beth Presley, Bill Sauser,
Guests: Sue Barry (Chair of Faculty Handbook Review) and Mike Kensler (Director of Office of Sustainability, Campus Sustainability Operations)
Absent: Nedret Billor, Robin Jaffe, Andy Wohrley

-- The meeting was called to order at 3:30 pm

-- The meeting minutes of March 1, 2011 Steering Committee were approved as written.

Sue Barry presented information on the Phase II Faculty Handbook that will be coming to the senate this meeting as an information item pending action which is anticipated during the May Senate meeting.

Mike Kensler spoke about efforts of the Sustainability Office on campus.  He will present this information to the senate this meeting.

The motion to amend language in the faculty handbook concerning Heads/Chairs was discussed and the form of the amendment approved.

A request from Sanjeev Baskiyar directed to Ann Presley asking for the generation/release of more categorized mean/mode data on teaching evaluation reports was discussed.  Emmett said these reports were not generated by the university, but the data capture would support this evaluation if needed.
