Present: Larry Teeter (Chair), James Goldstein (Chair-Elect), Laura Plexico (Secretary), Sara Wolf, Lisa Kensler, Keven Yost, Emily Myers, Patricia Duffy (Immediate-Past Chair), Dan Svyantek, Xing Ping Hu (Secretary-Elect); Donald Mulvaney

Absent: Timothy Boosinger; Emmett Winn

The first item of business was approval of the May 26, 2016 steering minutes.

Discussed the agenda for the June 14 Senate meeting. There is one information item on the agenda from the Teaching Effectiveness committee. Don Mulvaney gave a brief overview of his presentation. He will also present a resolution to modify the composition of the committee. Steering discussed challenges with the current teaching evaluation system.

At the meeting a question about charging fringe on summer salary was raised. The question is whether 9-month faculty should be charged fringe when they pay fringe benefits over the 9 months.

The STARS report will be presented at the August meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 4:30.
