Minutes of Senate Steering Committee
September 6, 2018 - 3:30-4:50 p.m.

Present:   Michael Baginski (Chair), Beverly Marshall (Secretary), Adrienne Wilson (Secretary-Elect), Dan Svyantek (Immediate-Past Chair), Emmett Winn (Associate Provost), Jung Won Hur, Michael Tillson, Jared Russell, and Robert Norton
Absent: Nedret Billor (Chair-Elect)
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Baginski at 3:30 pm and an agenda with attachments was provided via email to the committee.

Agenda items:

• The minutes of the June 7 and August 23 Steering meetings were approved.
• Dan Svyantek and Annette Kluck discussed an exit interview process for faculty. At this point there is no action item.
• Megan Good, Director of Academic Assessment, went through her presentation on SCORE, Student Core Outcomes and Readiness Evaluation.
• Beverly Marshall provided preliminary survey results. There was discussion about how to report the findings. An agreement was reach that Beverly Marshall would present some of the broader results at the upcoming Senate meeting
• There was some discussion regarding whether President Leath would be speaking at this meeting. Chair Baginski indicated that he would find out and report back so that the posted agenda was correct.
• Chair Baginski provided an update on parking concerns.

The agenda for the Senate meeting for 9/11/2018 includes remarks from Provost Hardgrave, a pending action item for a faculty handbook amendment regarding a change to the composition description for the Faculty Salaries and Welfare Committee. The Senate will also need to approve several committee appointments.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 PM.
