Chair Billor called the meeting to order at 3:30pm

Approval of Steering Committee Meeting Minutes, 11/5/2019: Approved.

Approval of Committee members: Presented by Adrienne Wilson, Senate Secretary
An overview of committee member changes to be voted upon at January Senate meeting.

 

Academic Honesty Presentation: Information Item: Presented by James Ryan, Provost Liaison
This presentation covered Academic Honesty proceedings at Auburn University, including reporting academic dishonesty, the hearing structure, and the appeals process. It concluded with a set of best practices for faculty.

 

Biggio Center Support for Academic Honesty and Test Proctoring: Information Item: Presented by Asim Ali, Director of Auburn Online
This presentation began with an overview of Biggio Center services, with an emphasis on Testing Services and Technology. Biggio Testing Services offers several levels of support including in-[erson proctoring, Virtual Live Proctoring, and On-Demand /with Check-in and A.I. monitoring. Costs of the services were discussed.

 

Update on Internationalization of AU: Information Item: presented by Andy Gillespie  - In the interest of time, this presentation has been deferred to a later senate meeting

 

Early Alert Grading Program: process and metrics: Information Item:
Presented by Judy Sanders, Office of the Provost and Brandon Simmons, Biggio Center.
The presenters discussed participation in Early Alert Midterm Grade Program and the stakeholders involved in the communications process. The presentation showed the outcomes from two years of the program, plus the services and options available to participating faculty.

 

Discussion of a Polling Place on Campus: Information Item
Presented by Beth McDaniel and Elizabeth Devore, Graduate Students
This presentation advocated for the addition of a polling station on the Auburn campus. It detailed the process for approving a campus polling station and the instances of polling locations at peer and aspirant institutions. The discussion also covered topics including parking, location, and transit.
