Auburn University Housing is proud to host the Resident Assistant Drive-In Conference of Alabama (RADICAL) on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Registration is $25 per delegate/advisor. The registration fee includes a light continental breakfast, lunch, and conference swag. Registration for RADICAL is open now until October 10. An invoice will be sent via email after registration is received. The invoice will include instructions on how to submit payment. Check or money order will be accepted forms of payment.
Program proposals will be accepted until October 12.
Parking will be available in the Cambridge Parking Lot located at 132 East Thach Avenue. The conference will begin in the Foy Ballroom. There will be staff and signs to direct participants upon arrival.
The Hotel at Auburn University is the closest hotel to the conference venue.
There will be a swap shop for RAs to have a chance to meet other RAs from across the state, and share their school swag with each other. RAs will be able to trade t-shirts, clothes pins, bags, or any type of swag they want to share. There will be a designated time for this, so come prepared!
This year, awards will be given in 5 categories:
Delegates will evaluate each presentation, and the presentation with the highest score will receive the Best of RADICAL award.
Spirit points will be given to institutions who display school spirit throughout the conference and show good sportsmanship to other institutions. Points will also be given to those who submit program proposals, present programs, and participate in the philanthropy fundraiser.
Each institution is encouraged to create a PowerPoint slide banner demonstrating their school’s spirit. The banner will be included in a slideshow that will play throughout the conference. The slide should incorporate your institution’s school pride and the conference theme, Superheroes. Submit your PowerPoint slide to Emily Scarpa by October 19.
Donations of school supplies, art supplies, and sporting goods for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lee County will be collected at RADICAL. For each item donated, the school will receive one point. The school with the most points will win the RADICAL Philanthropy Award.
Roll Call is an opportunity to display each institution’s school spirit and pride. Roll Calls can be pre-recorded videos or live performances. We ask that the roll call is no longer than three minutes. The roll call should demonstrate school spirit and relate to the Superheroes theme. For everyone to have a safe experience,the use of lifts, tumbling, and pyrotechnics is prohibited.
