Results from the 2013 National Survey of Student Engagement

Tables 3 and 4 show the engagement indicators for AU and for similar universities, scaled to compare with the Top 10% of all NSSE institutions on each benchmark.

Effect size is Cohen’s d, the standardized difference between the institution’s mean and the comparison group’s mean, calculated by dividing the mean difference by the pooled standard deviation.

AU scores are based on responses of 540 freshmen and 900 seniors (14% and 18% response rate), with a sampling error of 3.9% for freshmen and 3.0% for seniors.
