COSAM’s Marcelo A. Kuroda granted a NSF CAREER Award to Investigate Properties of Heterostructures formed with Ultrathin Materials

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has granted Dr. Marcelo A. Kuroda a $536,000 CAREER Award.  This prestigious award is given for his innovative perspective to understand and control the properties of these layered systems using theory and atomistic calculations. Graduate Research Assistant from the Department of Physics Enrichens His Auburn Experience with Six-Months in Japan

Almost 7,000 miles from home, Ahmad Nemer conducted research and enjoyed an opportunity to spend six months in a new environment. “I loved Japan,” said Ahmad. “It was a very fulfilling experience that I will always cherish.” Learn more about this graduate student's travels around the globe.

COSAM Graduate, Aspiring Neurologist, to take Knowledge to Poland

“When you drive around Auburn on the day of The Big Event and see everyone out volunteering, I think it’s really cool that it’s so accessible for students that might not be involved in community service otherwise,” she said. “I think it shows students how much of an impact they can have with just a few hours of their time.
