Auburn hosts state Science Olympiad tournamentAfter a two-year hiatus, 22 middle and high schools were brought together on Auburn University’s campus on March 26 to compete in the state Science Olympiad tournament. The competition was the culmination of months of preparation. Teams competed in topics such as earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, math and engineering.

Karen McNeal named Auburn University’s 2022 SEC Faculty Achievement WinnerFor Karen McNeal, it just means more.
McNeal, the William P. Molette Endowed Professor in the Department of Geosciences, is a 2022 SEC Faculty Achievement Award Winner.
One of just 14 people, McNeal represents Auburn University for her outstanding work and impactful contributions to the university.
“I am proud to represent Auburn University as the 2022 SEC Faculty Achievement Award Winner,” McNeal said. “It is an amazing honor to be recognized and to see the difference we are making by helping to create a more climate resilient future.” | |

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry’s Jiaming Liu named an Auburn University Outstanding Doctoral Student for 2021-22Jiaming Liu, a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Sciences and Mathematics, or COSAM, was recently selected by a special committee of the Graduate Council as one of Auburn University’s Outstanding Doctoral Students for 2021-22. She will be one of the students honored at the Graduate Awards Ceremony on April 18.

Davis Arboretum’s Auburn Azalea Festival set for April 16The Donald E. Davis Arboretum invites the public to attend its 4th Annual Auburn Azalea Festival on Saturday, April 16, 2022. The plant sale will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Arboretum with other festivities beginning at 10:00 a.m. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
