Maggie Han takes new role in COSAM as new Associate Dean for Academic AffairsSince 2007, Maggie Han has been making an impact in the College of Sciences and Mathematics, or COSAM.
As of Jan. 16, 2023, she will take a new role as the associate dean for academic affairs leading the college’s academic advisors and working to elevate the Auburn experience for undergraduate students.
Han served as the acting deputy associate dean last year while the person was on leave.
“I enjoyed being the acting deputy associate dean for academic affairs last year,” said Han. “Now, I will have an opportunity to help create the best educational experience for students and shape how our college provides services to our students.” | |||
Auburn University interdisciplinary team committed to reversing STEM teacher shortage in Alabama through UTeach programProfessors from Auburn University’s College of Education and College of Sciences and Mathematics are joining forces to help reverse a glaring shortage of K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, teachers throughout the state of Alabama.
An interdisciplinary team from the College of Sciences and Mathematics, or COSAM, and the College of Education will use a $3 million grant from the Alabama STEM Council to develop a UTeach program at Auburn. The team is led by co-directors Christine Schnittka from the College of Education and Stephanie Shepherd from COSAM and also includes COSAM’s Katherine Buckley and Mary Lou Ewald and Paul Fitchett from the College of Education. | |||
