2024 Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry awards honor faculty, staff and students

“Tonight, I want us all to think about the interactions we have with each other; how precious they are, and that we might not have them again,” said Doug Goodwin, chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the 2024 Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Award Celebration event on April 17.

Goodwin opened the evening by welcoming guests and asking them to take a few moments to think about reasons for being grateful.

This was in honor of Stewart W. Schneller, who passed away on April 5.

Auburn hosts American Statistical Association's Alabama-Mississippi chapter meeting showcasing student research

Auburn recently hosted the Alabama-Mississippi chapter meeting for the American Statistical Association (ASA), an event aimed at fostering networking and showcasing student research in statistics and data science. The conference, held on April 13, drew a diverse group of 65 participants from both states.

Nine Auburn-affiliated students receive National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships

Angel Gibbons, a student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, is the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship for graduate study. And, Maria Mercedes De Jesus from the Department of Biological Sciences earned an honorable mention.
