Aerospace Studies Instructor


Patty A. Patten is an Aerospace Studies Instructor at AFROTC Det 005, Auburn University, Auburn, AL. In this capacity, she instructs senior-level courses on leadership such as effective supervision, mentoring, ethics and professionalism. She has the responsibility for training, mentoring and preparing cadets to become Air Force Officers. Ms. Patten received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science from Chapman University, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish from Auburn University and her Executive Master of Business Administration from Auburn University-Montgomery, AL. She is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves who earned her commission through the Academy of Military Science at McGhee-Tyson ANGB, TN. She was commissioned as a Logistics Officer and holds an AFSC as a Force Support Officer. She currently is the IMA to the Director, AFSVC/VI and has additionally served in a myriad of positions, such as Director of Staff for Air Force Cyber College; Division Chief, Guard & Reserve Matters for USCYBERCOM; Labor Relations Specialist, State Equal Employment Officer and Assistant Inspector General for the Alabama Air and Army National Guard. She is also proud of her nine years of prior enlisted service as a Personnel Specialist and deployment in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM/OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. She is proud to return to Det 005 as a contractor to continue to serve the cadets of Auburn University and the United States Air Force/Space Force.
