Osio, Welcome
It is the dream of the Echota, Alabama's largest state-recognized Cherokee tribe, that the Cherokee language will again be spoken in Alabama. Use this website to discover the beauty of the Cherokee language as you explore the materials we have prepared. Enjoy seeing and hearing tribal members using Cherokee. Feel proud that as you learn to understand, speak, read, and write this beautiful language, you will be helping to preserve one of America's most important resources-- her linguistic diversity.
Project has been made possible through the generous support of Auburn University Outreach, Distance Learning , the Office of the Vice President for Research, the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of English.
