Dr. Chandana Mitra is a physical geographer and climatologist focused on researching the impacts of urban growth on local climate, especially in the area of heat and precipitation variability. Her research also involves urban sustainability, testing and evaluating the various adaptation and mitigation techniques in a warming cities, some of which you can hear in this interview on Newstalk 1010 Canadian Radio. For years she has promoted climate change education in K12 and common people through workshops and lectures. As part of NRT. Dr. Mitra will teach courses on principles of climatology, urban sustainability and urban climate.
