Andrew Balder is a second-year master's student in Auburn's College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environments Wetland and Riparian Ecology Lab under the advisement of Dr. Christopher Anderson. His current research is concentrated on an Alabama coastal forest (Mobile-Tensaw River Delta) response to possible tidal intrusion. Andrew received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi's School of Biology with an emphasis in Ecology, where he was an undergraduate researcher in the school's plant ecology lab. After leaving Mississippi, he decided to work in data science in the financial technology industry for over a year before his time at Auburn. Andrew is originally from Chicago, Illinois. His interests include nature-based activities, concerts, and college football.
