Bethany is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and completed her bachelor's degree at Auburn in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences in Geospatial and Environmental Informatics and a minor in Sustainability Studies. During her studies, she worked at Auburn Outdoors, helped established and served as Vice President for Auburn's Chapter of American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, and was an Undergraduate Research Fellow with Dr. Stephanie Rogers in the GeoIDEA Lab. Her research in Ice Patch Archaeology got her interested in graduate school. She is now pursuing her Masters in Geography and was accepted into this NSF Research Traineeship Program on Climate Resilience. Bethany's current research involves GIS, Groundwater, Private Well Programs, Climate Change Impacts and Resilience. She is passionate about the southeastern United States and believes that research can lead to stronger policy and education around the environment and climate change.
