Delete a Minor

Overview

A minor is an organized sequence or cluster of coursesoffered by a department or interdepartmental program. Minor deletion proposals are reviewed internally and typically take 2-3 months to be created.

Process Details

To delete a minor the originating academic unit should:

  1. Submit Proposal into CIM

Input the minor deletion proposal into the Curriculum Inventory Management System (CIM) for review and approval by appropriate unit, college and university committees. A CIM training guide is available for assistance.

University committees (graduate and undergraduate) meet once a month and usually review all proposals received by the first of that month. The undergraduate committee does not meet in the summer months.

Process Completion

After approvals, the Registrar will delete the minor in Banner; this usually occurs within a month of final approval. The deleted minor will be removed from the next Bulletin if it is deleted by the Registrar prior to May 1st. Questions about process completion should be sent to bulletin@auburn.edu.
