Revise a Course

Overview

Course revisions are reviewed internally and typically take 2-3 months to be approved.

Before you Begin

Confirm that your revisions are consistent with the university’s Credit Hour Policy and Course Numbering Guidelines.

Process Details

To revise a course the originating academic unit should:

  1. Submit for Approval into CIM

Input the proposed course revision into the Curriculum Inventory Management System for review and approval by appropriate unit, college and university committees. A CIM training guide is available for assistance.

University committees (graduate and undergraduate) meet once a month and usually review all proposals received by the first of that month. The undergraduate committee does not meet in the summer months.

Process Completion

The revised course will appear in the next Bulletin if all approvals occur prior to May 1st. Questions about process completion should be sent to bulletin@auburn.edu.
