Graduate Program Assistants

University Writing offers assistantships that include a monthly stipend and full tuition remission. Graduate Program Assistants support graduate student programming, serve clients in the Miller Writing Center, facilitate workshops, develop teaching materials, and implement projects that align with their professional goals. Applicants for college-specific assistantships (CHS, CLA, COSAM, and CFWE) must be enrolled in that college.

Miller Writing Center Peer Consultants

Miller Writing Center peer consultants are the primary providers of support to student writers at Auburn University. Peer consultants assist writers with projects through one-on-one tutoring sessions. They must be available to work at least ten hours per week for two semesters. Successful candidates begin asynchronous training in May and start to tutor in the writing center in August.

Please complete the peer consultant application via AU Human Resources. The application deadline has been extended to Sunday, March 15. Applicants meeting minimum qualifications and eligibility requirements will be invited via email to submit responses to eight open-ended questions because the hiring committee does not review traditional application materials (resumes, CVs, cover letters, etc.). Applicants who do not submit responses to these essay questions will not be considered for the position. Responses to essay questions are due Wednesday, March 18.

 

Miller Writing Center Front Desk Representatives

Front desk representatives (FDRs) assist with daily operations and provide administrative support to the Miller Writing Center.

Please complete the front desk representative application via AU Human Resources by Sunday, March 15. Applicants meeting minimum qualifications and eligibility requirements will be invited via email to submit responses to open-ended questions because the hiring committee does not review traditional application materials (resumes, CVs, cover letters, etc.). Applicants who do not submit responses to these essay questions will not be considered for the position. Responses to essay questions are due Wednesday, March 18.
