Workshops
Pre-Health Programs offers multiple workshops each semester. Topics include how to prepare for professional school, exploring programs, paying for professional school, test prep, application services, and many more! Check out our Workshop Schedule to see upcoming workshops. All workshops are held via Zoom at ie/PreHealthWorkshops.

Walk-In Wednesdays
Have a quick question? Current Auburn pre-health students are welcome to stop by SCC 239 at the hours of Wednesdays 9:30 – 11:00 am and 1:30 – 4:00 pm to meet with a pre-health specialist. Students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to check our Workshop Schedule to see whether one of those addresses their concerns.
Appointments
Pre-Health Programs offers individual appointments to help students on their journey to professional school. Students can schedule an appointment with a pre-health specialist in AdviseAssist.
The appointment types include the following:
- Pre-Health Exploration: Choose this appointment type to learn more about a health profession or professional school.
- Pre-Health Preparation: Choose this appointment type to discuss how you can prepare for professional school including pre-requisites, timeline, shadowing, and more.
- Pre-Health Application Assistance: Choose this appointment type for help with a professional school application, including essay review.
- Pre-Health Interview Preparation: Choose this appointment type to get help preparing for a professional school interview. This is not a mock interview.
Newsletter
Pre-Health Programs sends out a newsletter with a variety of announcements and opportunities for students approximately every two weeks. Current students can sign up for our newsletter at aub.ie/prehealth.
Boot Camp
Boot Camp is geared towards Sophomores and/or students who are about a year out from applying to professional school. It’s a great chance for students to assess their progress and develop a plan to meet their professional goals. Boot Camp is offered at the end of spring semester and covers information about PPAC, application timelines, personal statements, test prep (MCAT, DAT, OAT, GRE), letters of recommendation, what competitive applications look like, and more!
Pre-Professional Application Course (PPAC)
The Pre-Professional Application Course (PPAC) provides pre-health students individual guidance during the application process. PPAC is open to current Auburn students and alumni planning to apply to professional school. PPAC includes access to exclusive workshops, mock interviews, individual meetings to assess candidacy, application review, and essay feedback. PPAC is a year-long program that begins each fall. Letter Packet
Pre-Health Programs offers a letter packet service for students applying to dental, medical, and optometry schools. In order to qualify for a letter packet, students must complete PPAC. Auburn University does not offer a committee letter.
Courses
Pre-Health Orientation (SCMH 1890)
SCMH 1890 is an introduction to Pre-Health Programs and health professions. Pre-Health Orientation provides guidance for students planning to seek admission to health professional schools and programs. It is offered fall and spring semesters.
Pre-Health Internship (SCMH 4920)
SCMH 4920 is a course designed to provide pre-health students with an opportunity to (1) combine professional experience with academic instruction (2) develop opportunities that increase understanding of career options in the health field and (3) develop problem-solving and communication skills in a professional setting. Preference is given to COSAM students. It is offered year-round. Contact pre-health@auburn.edu for more information.
Mock Interviews
Students have the opportunity to practice their interview skills each semester. Representatives from a variety of professional schools serve as mock interviewers, giving students the unique chance to gain feedback directly from someone at a school they may be interested in applying to in the future.
Graduate and Professional School Fair
Pre-Health Programs and COSAM Career Services host a Graduate and Professional School Fair each semester. Students have the opportunity to speak one on one with representatives from a variety of graduate and professional programs.
