Panama study AbroadCOSAM to offer climate change study abroad course in Republic of Panama

A new study abroad program is now available to Auburn students in the Republic of Panama called “Climate Change and Environmental Management.” A seminar detailing the new study abroad opportunity will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, from 3 to 4 p.m. in 115 Sciences Center Classrooms Building. The course will take place in summer 2014 and is co-sponsored by the College of Sciences and Mathematics’ Department of Geology and Geography and the Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean. Those who participate in the course will gain basic knowledge and skills in the science of climate change; analyze trends in climatic variability and human vulnerability in Panama; explore direct and indirect effects of a changing climate on water resources management; and learn to use technologies such as GIS and remote sensing.
