Meeting (and field trips) of Society for Conservation Biology - DBS

Time: Sep 16, 2014 (06:00 PM)
Location: Rouse Life Sciences Building 112

Details:
Our second meeting will focus on two field trips. The first field trip occurs right after the Sept. 16 meeting, when we’ll go to Tuskegee National Forest for a night swamp walk. Shawn Jacobsen and Dr. Debbie Folkerts will lead an exploration of nocturnal creatures found as we explore one or two sites. Also at the meeting, Jim Godwin of the Alabama Natural Heritage Program will talk about the Conecuh River and we’ll make plans for our first-ever Conecuh River Kayak Trip, lead by Godwin and Jacobsen. That trip is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 20/21 and includes an overnight stay at the Nature Conservancy’s Splinter Hill Bog (pitcher plant bog) in Baldwin County. All are welcome. Contact Dr. Bob Boyd (boydrob@auburn.edu) for more information!
