Title: Product of Operators, Spectrum, and Numerical Range
Abstract: In this talk, we show that a compact operator A is a multiple of a positive semi-definite operator if and only if the spectrum of AB is contained in the product of the closure of numerical range of A and B, for all (rank one) operators B. An example of a normal operator is given to show that the equivalent conditions may fail in general. Some related results are also discussed. |
