In 2020, the documentary Coded Bias explained MIT media researcher Joy Buolamwini's discovery of racial bias in facial recognition algorithms and revealed numerous ways artificial intelligence embeds bias into our day-to-day lives! Join the Auburn University College of Sciences and Mathematics Department of Mathematics and Statistics for a two-day event where we will explore the fall-out of the film and examine where we are now. 
 
On March 16 @ 6:00 pm, join a virtual discussion of the documentary Coded Bias via Zoom: Coded Bias: Humanity vs Machine Virtual Discussion. The film is available online (see, for example, Netflix). Please contact us if you need assistance in locating a copy of the film.
