OLLI at Auburn Graduate Teaching Position, 2025-26

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Auburn University invites Auburn University graduate students to apply for a competitively selected teaching position. Two student instructors will be selected to receive $1,200 in compensation for teaching a six-to-eight-week OLLI class on their current field of study and research.

Submission Deadline: Friday, May 9, 2025 at 5 p.m.

OLLI at Auburn is a program under the Vice President for University Outreach that offers noncredit classes to adults 50 and older. OLLI’s mission is to improve the quality of life for its members by providing member-centered courses, hands-on learning experiences, and social interaction. Courses are offered in a variety of subjects and settings.

Applicants should submit a course proposal that indicates the term in which they intend to teach. Classes should be taught once a week for an hour and a half in consecutive weeks during one of OLLI’s three 2025- 2026 academic terms.

September 8 – October 31, 2025 (8 weeks)
January 20 – March 10, 2026 (7 weeks)
March 30 – May 8, 2026 (6 weeks)

Student Instructors will be selected by the OLLI at Auburn Curriculum Committee.

  1. Be admitted to the Auburn University Graduate School
  2. Present a course proposal that is designed by the applicant and focuses on his or her field of study and particular research.
  3. Provide a CV and at least one letter of support from a faculty advisor.
