Office of Public Service leading system mapping and pilot program
The Office of Public Service within University Outreach was granted $60,000 from the Financial Health Network’s Financial Solutions Lab to lead a system mapping and pilot program to secure government-issued identifications for individuals who are incarcerated and committed youth in accordance with Alabama legislation Act 2021-549.
During the 2021 Involvement Awards, The Campus Kitchen at Auburn received the Fred & Charlene Kam “Human Touch” Service Award which is given to the organization whose philanthropic and community service activities exemplify the power of the “Human Touch.” This award recognizes organizations that enhanced the student experience, was innovative in their philanthropic and community service activities, and fulfilled the organization's mission. Despite facing unprecedented COVID related restrictions and challenges, Campus Kitchen at Auburn continued to reduce food waste by collecting leftover food from dining facilities and address food insecurity by distributing more than 600 meals per week.
OPS Employees Retire from AU
Two long-time University Outreach employees recently retired from Auburn, each with over 30 years of service. Ralph S. Foster, Jr., Assistant Vice President for University Outreach and Public Service and CEU officer, Office of Public Service, retired after 31+ years of service on July 1, 2020. Sarah Reese-Burney, Program Coordinator and CEU Manager, Office of Public Service, retired after 36+ years of service on June 30, 2020.
