Outreach and Engaged Scholarship Symposium
Overview
The Outreach & Engaged Scholarship Symposium, Empowering Partnerships to Advance Beyond Boundaries, will be held September 3-4, 2024. The anticipated location is the Auburn University Hotel and Dixon Conference Center.
The 2024 Symposium will seek to:
- Emphasize the importance of mutually beneficial relationships and showcase successful partnerships that empower both academia and the community, fostering successful solutions and growth.
- Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and boundary spanning initiatives and explore how engaged scholarship transcends traditional academic silos, connecting diverse fields and perspectives.
- Encourage sharing of best practices throughout the lifespan (from inception to completion) of outreach and engagement partnerships.
- Encourage student STEAM-Science communication, engagement and outreach.

Call for Proposals
Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for the 2024 Outreach and Engaged Scholarship Symposium. Please use the link to submit proposals for our program.
There are four ways to present:
- September 3, 2024 — Graduate Student Poster Presentation (Time Slot 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.)
- September 4, 2024 — Faculty Poster Presentation (Time Slot 10:45 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.)
- September 4, 2024 — Plenary II Roundtable Presentation A (Time Slot 1:30 P.M. – 2:15 P.M.)
- September 4, 2024 — Plenary II Roundtable Presentation B (Time Slot 2:30 P.M. — 3:15 P.M.)
The call for proposals will be available from Wednesday, March 20 through Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Finalized information for accepted proposals will be shared in the weeks following the deadline for proposals.
IMPORTANT: If you are a graduate student submitting a proposal for the Graduate Student Poster Session on Tuesday, September 3, you will be required to provide your faculty advisor's name, email address, college, and department.
NOTE: Please ensure you have all proposal and presenter information before beginning the survey in the event of a timeout. If you need to revisit and continue the survey later, you may do so as long as you are using the same device and browser.
