INITIATING AN INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENT AT AUBURN UNIVERSITY
Agreements between Auburn University, its employees and international university, NGO, government and corporate partners create vital opportunities for academic, research, outreach and operational engagement. All Auburn partnerships should be guided by the university and college/unit strategic plans with an outcomes-focused approach and are subject to the International Agreement Policy.
KEEP IN MIND
- An international partner is considered any non-U.S. entity, including foreign academic institutions, governments, companies, scholars, or employees
- This is NOT a system for outside entities to request connections/agreements with Auburn University
- The International Agreement Approval Process is completely executed through an automated Smartsheet system - All emails/notifications pertaining to an international agreement submission will come from our team via Smartsheet (ensure Smartsheet emails are not going to your "Junk" folder)
- Negotiations should not take place with a partner prior to official proposal approval by the International Agreements Committee
- Upon submission, proposals are allotted two work weeks for review (one week for college/unit and one week for International Agreements Committee) - Do not expect to be notified about the status of your proposal earlier than two weeks from submission date
- If a proposed agreement will result directly in academic credit being awarded by Auburn University and you have questions about the specifics of that process, please contact SACSCOC Liaison Mark Degoti, markdegoti@auburn.edu
