Tiger Takeoff FAQs
Tiger Takeoff is an educational recruitment camp for rising seniors (high-school class of 2026) from Alabama. This immersive residential experience will expose prospective students from Alabama to leadership activities, academic offerings, campus resources, faculty, staff, and student leaders. Attendees are paired with group leaders who are current Auburn students; these Tiger Takeoff group leaders are called "Navigators". Navigators will support attendees during the summer experience and will remain connected with them throughout their freshman year. Families will be invited to learn more about Auburn University during the Tiger Takeoff camp.
This experience is free to attend, with all meals, lodging, and materials provided for participants.
Tiger Takeoff will be held Thursday, July 17 - Saturday, July 19th at Auburn University in Auburn, AL. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM on Thursday, July 17th, and the camp will end around Noon on Saturday, July 19th.
Tiger Takeoff is FREE to attend! camp materials, housing for participants, and all meals are included. Participants are responsible for transportation arrangements to and from Auburn, AL.
Tiger Takeoff is an educational recruitment camp for rising seniors (high-school class of 2026) from Alabama. This camp is open to all students with a focus on students from underrepresented geographic locations and backgrounds.
Yes. Attendees are required to participate in all camp activities scheduled July 18-20.
Check-in begins at 8:00 AM. Breakfast will be provided at check-in. All participants must check in by 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Students will receive all necessary materials and room assignments during this time. No roommate requests will be considered. More details related to parking and self-drivers to come.
No. Students are responsible for making travel arrangements to and from campus. Parent/guardian pick-up is scheduled from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
While your parent or guardian may not attend the camp as a participant, there will be portions of the camp they are invited to participate. Following check-in on July 17th, we encourage parents to participate in the Tiger Takeoff Welcome Session scheduled for 11:00 AM – 1:15 PM. Families are invited to attend the Closing Ceremony Brunch on July 19th at 10:30 AM in the Melton Student Center Ballroom.
Yes. We understand that some students will drive themselves tothe camp. However, please remember that students will not be allowed to use their vehicles during the camp. Upon check-in,students who have brought a vehicle will be asked to turn over their keys until the camp concludes.
Please pack comfortable clothing and shoes. It will be hot during the day, and time will be spent outside, so we ask that you dress accordingly. You are welcome to wear shorts/t-shirts/tennis shoes during your time on campus. There will be much movement across campus! You’ll only need a business casual outfit with comfortable shoes for dinner on Friday night. Also, don’t forget to bring a rain jacket or umbrella! You will be given a camp t-shirt to wear on the final day of the camp.
You will need to bring linens for your bed. The beds in the residence halls are twin XL. If you don’t have twin XL fitted sheets, you could bring 2 flat sheets. Students should also bring a light blanket, pillow, towels, toiletries, shower shoes, and any other necessary personal items.
For students to have a well-rounded experience, students will be assigned a roommate by the Tiger Takeoff Staff. Males and females will be housed in separate living spaces. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to honor any roommate requests in advance or at check-in.
No. Camp participants will be provided with all meals during the duration of the camp as well as snacks throughout the day.
No. Money is not needed for the camp. Everything you need will be provided to you upon arrival.
No. On-site registration will not be available. Only registered and confirmed participants are allowed to participate.
Yes. Students are expected to be in the residence halls at the conclusion of the day’s activities. Residence halls will be monitored throughout the day and evening by university staff members.
